On the occasion of the solemn opening of the Holy Door in the Vatican which, next Christmas night, will officially begin the next one Ordinary Jubileenext to the Canopy of the St. Peter’s Basilicawill be exposed the venerated statue of the Madonna della Speranzakept in the Sanctuary of Battipaglia a Lei dedicated.
This was made known, with joy and gratitude, by the Archbishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, HE Monsignor Andrea Bellandi: «The statue will remain on display in St. Peter’s throughout the Octave of Christmas, as a sign of hope for the pilgrims who will arrive in Rome in those days. – he announced SE Monsignor Bellandi – The Jubilee that we will celebrate in 2025 invites us to be pilgrims of hope, rooted in the certainty that nothing and no one can ever separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus (see Rom 8:39), our hope. How can we not put ourselves, then, at the school and under the protection of She who is the Mother of Hope, the Virgin Mary, so that everyone – and in particular those who suffer and are troubled in body and spirit – can experience the closeness of the most affectionate of mothers, who ever abandons her children? Precisely she, who – as the Council recalls – already glorified in body and soul, now shines before the pilgrim people of God as a sign of sure hope and consolation (Lumen gentium, 68)».
«Looking to the Lord, accompanied and supported by Mary, we are already praying that the next Jubilee anniversary will be a propitious time for our entire diocesan Church and for each of us for a journey of renewed conversion, so that we can be the leaven of genuine hope», concluded the Archbishop.
