Rhineland-Palatinate. With “ReStart Tourismus RLP” the Ministry of Economic Affairs is starting a new marketing support program for tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate. That is what Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Volker Wissing with. The program is financed with state funds from the second supplementary budget to strengthen the Rhineland-Palatinate economy.
“The state government is acting resolutely. We believe in the future of tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate, ”said Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Volker Wissing. “We will not let the challenging situation put us in shock, but are investing now in order to be able to take off after the crisis,” said the minister. “Right now, many people are thinking about where their next excursion or trip can go. Anyone who invests in good marketing now can position themselves specifically as an attractive travel destination. The tourism state of Rhineland-Palatinate with its diverse, attractive natural landscapes and regions, the beautiful cities and the excellent wines is excellently positioned for the competition of the holiday regions and we want to use this opportunity for our state ”, said Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Volker Wissing.
As part of ReStart tourism marketing, for example, the production of tourist content such as photos, moving images or text, switching costs for online and print advertising or search engine optimization as well as other marketing activities that help to mitigate the consequences of the corona crisis for tourism can be funded. The integration of the new business location brand Rheinland-Pfalz.Gold into tourism advertising is also eligible. The promoted marketing measures should keep an eye on the extension of the season and develop sustainable effects.
The program is aimed at marketing tourism organizations in Rhineland-Palatinate. Applications can be submitted until Friday, December 11th. Donations of up to 40,000 euros are granted. The marketing funding is given out to applicants as a 100 percent grant from state funds. It is possible to start measures early. The funded measures must be completed by March 31, 2021.
The corona pandemic has been affecting social and economic life since March. Tourism is particularly hard hit by the effects. The state government would like to continue to support the tourist regions and cities with the funding program for tourist ReStart marketing. The new funding program is an implementation step to strengthen the Rhineland-Palatinate economy on the basis of the second supplementary budget. Around 50 million euros are available for tourism from the second supplementary budget. In a next step, the currently existing hotel subsidy is to be expanded with funds from the supplementary budget at the beginning of 2021. A total of around 875,000 euros are available for the ReStart Tourismus RLP marketing funding program, which was launched in a short time. ps
