(ANSA) – MILAN, MARCH 19 – At the State University of Milan no fees for students with an ISEE of less than 30 thousand euros. After the favorable opinion of the Senate on 12 March, the university’s board of directors gave the green light to the new contribution relief plan for students for the next academic year. Among the main measures is the raising of the minimum ISEE threshold from 22 thousand to 30 thousand euros (no tax area), the raising of the maximum ISEE from 75 thousand to 80 thousand euros and the reduction of taxation for all income brackets. income lower than 78 thousand. The provision will apply, as the university explains, to all students in progress, out of course in the first year and out of course in the second year: in particular, the students who will be able to take advantage of the no tax area will go from 19 thousand to 27 thousand, according to a estimate calculated on current data, almost half of the total students enrolled in the university. But lower rates than the current ones will be applied to all students with an income of up to 78 thousand euros. Higher rates will, however, be in force for incomes above 78 thousand euros. The contribution currently in force at the State University provides two installments: a first fixed for everyone, and a second determined based on the economic condition of the student’s family unit and the type of enrollment (ongoing/off-course). The cost of the entire operation is approximately 950 thousand euros, an income that will be compensated with ministerial funds. “With this measure, the identity of La Statale is reaffirmed as a public, open and inclusive university which aims to break down every social barrier to access to training and to fully enhance the qualities of all students”, commented Marina Brambilla , vice-rector of teaching and student services.
