The state paid support to the musicians, but both had jobs – eXtra.cz

In December 2020, the state paid a one-time contribution for artist Emma Smetana and her partner Jordan Haj. They both had jobs at the time. While other artists were completely without income during the lockdown, Smetana and Haj were not short of money. Nevertheless, according to the hlidacstatu.cz portal, they applied for support. In addition, shortly after its payment, at the beginning of 2021, they went on an almost two-month vacation in Bali.

The coronavirus pandemic was a major blow to many people. Among the most affected professions were mainly the artistic ones. Especially during the lockdown period, theaters remained closed and concerts were banned for a long time. Many artists have reached the bottom of the last two years, which they have had to bounce back thanks to state compensation. For a large number of actors and musicians, it was the only source of funding.

But that can’t be said about Emma Smetana and her partner Jordan Hayovi. At the end of 2020, at a time when a hard lockdown was in place in the Czech Republic, they both had jobs, even though they were musicians. Smetana did interviews for DVTV, Haj again appeared in the show Your Face Has a Known Voice, where the weekly fee ranged in the tens of thousands of crowns.

Yet both according to the portal hlidacstatu.cz they applied for support for artists, which the state also paid them in December. They received every 60,000 contribution. That they were not so bad financially is also proved by the fact that at the beginning of 2021 they flew on a luxury holiday in Bali, where they spent almost two months.

The eXtra.cz editorial staff therefore contacted Emma Smetana with a request for an opinion and whether the contribution also paid for a holiday in Bali. However, the singer and presenter has not responded to the report yet. Maybe because it seems strange when a earning person asks for support, while others have not even received it …
