The subsidy for the purchase of an electric or hydrogen car is intended to help accelerate the growth of their market share, especially in a situation where there is still a real threat of the cancellation of one of the main motivations for their purchase, which is free parking in Prague’s blue zones. It is limited to the amount of CZK 200,000 for the purchase of a passenger vehicle and CZK 300,000 for a truck and has a number of conditions. The first one means a departure from current practice; the subsidy will only be provided when financing through a loan from the National Development Bank, which will also provide a guarantee for up to 70% of the target amount. The reason for this measure is according to E15 the effort to ensure that the subsidies reach less mobile companies as a matter of priority. In any case, the company applies for a subsidy directly from sellers or leasing companies, which will then be assessed by the development bank.

The upper limit of the value of a subsidized passenger vehicle was set at 1.5 million crowns, but there is also a lower limit. It is not set exactly, but it is around half a million. The purchase of a commercial vehicle is limited to a price of 2.5 million crowns. The subsidy can be used within one company for any number of vehicles, as long as the total amount of support over three years does not exceed the equivalent of 200,000 euros, i.e. 4.9 million crowns according to the current exchange rate. However, the support that was paid to the company during the pandemic lockdown, for example, is deducted from this amount. The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) expects considerable interest in this subsidy, as it is said to have very benevolent conditions, for which Poland was the inspiration.
