The state is floundering while Borisov is running a business with national sovereignty – 2024-08-21 09:29:58

/ world today news/ Since GERB returned to power, the institutions have been in a cycle, the state is at a complete standstill, only aggression in society is growing. And during this time, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is once again on the big chessboard as a self-forgotten pawn, imagining himself as a king, and is doing ambulant trade with our national sovereignty against dubious benefits.

Already for the second month since it became operational, the new parliament has been idling. The oborishchen spirit, which the journalist Toma Tomov called for at its opening, evaporated with the first chairman’s bell. The loud declarations of the GERB leaders about real results in a short time flowed down the drain.

“In the parliament, we will work with the awareness that in a short time the Bulgarians expect real results from us, and that in the areas that affect them the most”, the deputy chairman of GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov pathetically spoke on the first working day of the new National Assembly and then shut up.

The time has not been short for a long time, and the real results so far have been quite modest. In 65 days, the rulers managed to pass in the first reading the highly controversial law on concessions, returned by the president as anti-social, to activate the procedure for the long-promised increase of low pensions and to organize a theatrical failure of the vote for the Slavi referendum. The most urgent, by tradition, were the nth changes in a row in the Road Traffic Act, which were adopted in a flash, because the matter is closest to their militia mentality. Also, there is a kelepir – I just saw someone passed out from public procurement for more cameras. Outside of this modest legislative activity, all else is quarrels, scandals, empty declarations and insulting qualifications, strewn almost daily from the parliamentary rostrum. It got to the point that, out of senselessness and lack of legislative ideas, the rulers began to invite their ministers to the National Assembly every other day in order to advertise them.

For two months, the parliament has practically not worked, but only simulated activity. The legislative machine of GERD cycles. The lobbyists, it seems, haven’t gotten around to writing the “correct” laws for them yet. And during that time, political charlatans like Anton Todorov and Spas Gurnevski, posing as deputies from GERB, provide spectacles to the people with their sick theories and mediocre rhymes.

Since GERB returned to power, the state has been at a standstill, only the aggression in society is growing. The government is primarily focused on distributing public funds between “its own” and pleasing outside masters.

And during this time, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov runs a mobile business with national sovereignty. He once again took on the role of a carrier pigeon between Turkey and the EU – a role that he obviously finds difficult given his not so high qualities as a diplomat. During his visit to Ankara a week ago, Borisov unequivocally sided with Turkey in its dispute with the EU. He did not at all raise the question of Ankara’s interference in our internal affairs, which shone through during the last parliamentary elections. And to top it off, he was taken hostage by Erdogan, who forced him to celebrate his birthday in his company. The low methane that our Prime Minister made in front of the High Gate became the object of universal ridicule. The Turkish president clearly has a firm grip on the reins of our bashbakan and disposes of him as he pleases. They probably share a common interest, but this is increasingly to the detriment of the national. Let’s not forget that Borissov’s decision to stop the South Stream project fully benefits our southern neighbor. In the coming years, Bulgaria will be forced to buy gas from Turkey at a corresponding premium and will become a hostage to the whims of the Turkish president. Isn’t it national treason?! Added to this is our total dependence on the favor of the Sultan on the refugee issue. If the dam is released, the tsunami will take us away in a matter of days. Against this “restraint”, however, often bordering on blackmail, Europe, and Bulgaria in particular, are ready for shameful compromises with democratic principles.

Exactly the same humiliating condescension was demonstrated by Borissov towards Macedonia. During Prime Minister Zoran Zaev’s visit to Sofia, he triumphantly announced that he is putting an end to the dispute between the two countries and, almost certainly, will sign a bilateral cooperation agreement with Macedonia tomorrow. It would be wonderful if our western neighbor had given categorical guarantees that she would comply with the Bulgarian conditions. However, there was nothing like that. It was not clear whether Macedonia will refuse to talk about a “Macedonian minority” in our country, whether it will accept the Bulgarian position regarding language and history, whether it will undertake the preservation of the Bulgarian historical heritage on its lands. Yes, Borisov and Zaev hugged each other more than necessary, together they bowed at the monument of Tsar Samuil in Sofia to demonstrate reconciliation. But there is still a long way to go from cheap populism to resolving long-standing interstate disputes. If Bulgaria signs the Urbuleshka agreement on bilateral cooperation, it will be another ambulatory trade in sovereignty under the pressure of external forces. Let’s not forget that the political processes in neighboring Macedonia, as well as in our country, are manually managed by Washington. We share a helm, so to speak.

Hugs between Borisov and Zaev can turn out to be quite indecent.

The series of inadequate diplomatic moves continued with Borisov’s visit to Brussels to participate in the Council of the EU. The Bulgarian Prime Minister was once again used by his European supervisors to launch unpopular theses, which many in the EU share, but dare not say out loud, as they are captive to their false political correctness. The Prime Minister announced that the borders of the EU would be tightly closed for refugees – if they only passed through the border checkpoints. This speech was intended entirely for Bulgarian use. Pure PR. It makes no sense, nor is it the fruit of anyone’s courage. Well, that’s how it is now. Refugees have the right to pass only through the official border points, otherwise it is a violation of the law. In addition, it is not clear what barrier facility Borissov proposes for the long coastal border of Greece and Italy, for example. A fence in the sea? The empty talk of a completely inadequate politician looking to please. Nothing more.

Look, his talk about collective EU membership in NATO deserves a little more attention. This, in practice, means a complete renunciation of sovereignty. We enter as a group and there, the big ones, decide what ships and weapons we, the Bulgarians, need. Literally, these were the words of our homegrown Euro-Atlantic. The idea isn’t new, but it’s so controversial that it doesn’t stand a chance. Apparently, however, it was suggested to Borisov as an argument against the purchase of non-American fighters for the Bulgarian Air Force. Since returning to power, Borisov has frantically sought to please his overseas patrons on the issue of defense spending. He promised that the money would go to American companies, and the Bulgarian military is muddying the waters with their recommendations for Swedish “Gripens”. So he grabs at any idea that can get him out of the awkward situation. In this case – for the group membership of the EU in NATO. Or as he simply explained it: “Then as a collective membership, with the money available to all countries, let’s assess who needs more planes, ships. Depending on that, as we are on the Black Sea, we need more ships or ground troops. That’s how I think that many times it will turn out cheaper than this militarization at the moment, when only billions have to be poured from Bulgaria alone, let alone for the whole EU”. That is, let’s let the NATO lobbyists in the EU equip our army! Do we need to specify what such an unfolding is called?

As he has led her, Borisov will soon sell the whole country under the table in exchange for some smuggling channel for cigarettes or an oil tanker. Which, by the way, is about to happen…
