the State has failed, now radical reclamation – Il Tempo

The conversation with Don Maurizio Patriciello in the church of San Paolo Apostolo, the meeting with the principal Eugenia Carfora of the ‘Francesco Morano’ high school, the participation in the meeting of the provincial committee for public order and safety. These are the three moments that mark Giorgia Meloni’s visit to the Parco Verde di Caivano district, the ‘theater’ of the abuses against two 11 and 12-year-old cousins in which, the premier points out, “the state failed and institutions”. Which needs to be remedied, with the government’s goal of making the area of the Campania municipality “from a problem to an example”. Not an easy goal, “but we are here to say that we intend to act and put ourselves forward – explains the Prime Minister in a press point organized before flying from Naples to Athens for the bilateral agreement with the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis – The main message we want give is that in Italy there can be no free zones”.

They are social cells gone mad: Mulè too is asking for reclamation

After thanking Don Patriciello’s work (“an example and a resource for all”) and expressing solidarity “with the innocent victims of an inhumane act, of an infamous crime that clearly shocked everyone”, Meloni then illustrates the path imagined for the small town in the Neapolitan hinterland. “I intend to involve the entire government in two main areas: the first is the firmness of the State against crime, illegality and drugs. This territory will be radically reclaimed”, he announces, clarifying that the second directive “concerns the need to provide this territory with the necessary services”. Starting with the ‘Delphinia’ sports centre, “the place where the double rape seems to have taken place and which today is an open-air landfill”. By next spring, Meloni announces, it will have to reopen thanks to an intervention worth around 10 million euros and become “a place of integration” and “a multifunctional center” with a library and multimedia room. At the same time we will try to give answers “also in terms of education”. A commitment that will translate into the arrival of 20 new teachers in Caivano and more funds for the schools in the area. “These are only the first interventions that we will bring”, concludes Meloni who will ask each member of his government “to be present here in a cadenced way to add his piece of this work and to monitor what is happening”.

The first in the area were the ministers Matteo Piantedosi (Interior), Andrea Abodi (Sport) and Giuseppe Valditara (Education) who, together with the undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano, accompanied the premier on her institutional visit. Visit characterized by the enormous security measures deployed in the Green Park also as a result of the social threats directed at Meloni by those who protest against the government’s tightening of the Citizenship Income. And “also to balance any protesters” an FdI executive would have sent a message in a chat with some indications to follow in view of the appointment. In the text message, revealed by the La7 news, here is the invitation to “mobilize to bring people, but not with party symbols. They must look like ordinary people who welcome Giorgia in celebration”. “A sad sad stuff” for the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, while FdI senator Antonio Iannone tries to reconstruct what happened as follows: “I have not organized any mobilization of militants. There was an unfaithful, unhappy surrender , of what I wanted to say – the regional commissioner of the party in Campania explains to LaPresse – I spoke to the Campania parliamentarians and the provincial presidents recommending that those who wanted to participate had to have a sober attitude, not to wear party symbols because it would have been out of place given the nature of the event and the environment in which it would take place. I don’t know who made that thought but there was no will to organize claque or disguise oneself among the citizens”.
