State Duma deputy Igor Lebedev expressed satisfaction with the decision to resume the Tinkoff matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the presence of spectators. It is reported by “Championship.com”.
According to him, football fans in Russia are a group that is accustomed to being disinfected from the inside, and therefore they are not afraid of the coronavirus. Lebedev also noted that the presence of even a small number of spectators in the stands will help clubs from a financial point of view.
The decision to resume the Tinkoff RPL in the presence of spectators was made earlier on Thursday, May 28. It is specified that no more than 10 percent of the seats should be occupied in the stands. The first match will be played on June 21. Championship was suspended in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On May 16, after a pause, the German Bundesliga started. A number of other European championships, including the championships of Spain, Italy and England, are scheduled to begin in June.
