The State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion of treason to the former captain of the Ukrainian submarine “Zaporozhye”. He defected to the enemy in 2014.

The department said that during the Russian occupation of Crimea, the commander surrendered the only submarine without a fight and went over to the side of the enemy.
“Now he is the deputy commander of the 4th separate brigade of submarines of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, fighting against Ukraine on the side of the occupiers,” the SBI said.
Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation informed the traitor of suspicion of high treason (part 1 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
