In the auction, the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) again managed to sell the cryptocurrency Bitcoin more expensive than the current price of coins on the stock exchange. 0.60630638 BTC is on at the end of the auction sold for 470,743 CZK. Current price according to the exchange office Coindesk it was approximately CZK 447 thousand. The auction ended last Tuesday, June 2, at 3:00 pm, but the state confirmed the successful completion of the auction only today.

“The result of this auction was known immediately after its end on the website www.nabidkamajetku.cz. It was not the property of ÚZSVM, but the secured property. We have now received the approval of the Police of the Czech Republic for the sale of this virtual currency under the conditions competed in the electronic auction, “said the Public Relations Officer of the ÚZSVM to Lupa Andrej Bančanský.

“28 bidders entered the auction, of which 17 deposited the necessary deposit. The only bid in the auction that confirmed the minimum announced purchase price. 0.60630638 Bitcoin units were therefore sold for 470,743 crowns. In this case, the ÚZSVM was entrusted with the sale by the Police of the Czech Republic, which secured the currency in criminal proceedings, and the amount will go to the deposit account of the Municipal Court in Brno, “said Bančanský.

The state sold cryptocurrencies for the first time in early Aprilwhen cryptocurrencies seized from crime went to auction. The state approaches the sale by auction because it does not consider cryptocurrencies as a financial instrument under Act No. 370/2017 Coll., But only as a commodity.
