It was busy for hours on the A58 this Friday afternoon. The afternoon rush hour started early between Breda-West and Tilburg-Reeshof. There, traffic around a quarter to five had to take into account an extra travel time of 80 minutes. A little after six, it hit Oirschot again, so that in the direction of Eindhoven you had to take into account a delay of almost an hour.
There was also significant delay in the reverse direction on the A58. In the direction of Breda, the extra travel time between Tilburg-Centrum Oost and Bavel increased to 20 minutes.
On other highways in the province such as the A2, the A16, the A59 and the A67 and around Eindhoven it was also a long queue.
The ANWB advised road users not to hit the road until later. “It makes no sense to join the traffic jam. If you leave around seven o’clock, it’s a lot more relaxed.”
Earlier in the day, the ANWB had already warned of a heavy striker due to the start of the May holiday.
