Halit Ergenc Turkish actor is known to most Hungarians from the series Sülejmán, but he was also the male protagonist of Seherezádé. In the latter series, he played together with his future Bergüzar Korellel. Although many people guess that they met on the set of their soap opera, they knew about each other’s existence much longer.

The actor told the story back in 2014 Hurriyet newspaperthat their love did not develop in an ordinary way.
– I first met his mother and father, I even worked with them. I was in my twenties at the time, Bergüzar is 12 years younger than me, so we hadn’t met then, he must have been in elementary school around then. Years went by, once I sat in a restaurant in Beyoglu. Several girls were sitting behind me, talking the school teachers down. I turned around and told them: “I also studied at the Mimar Sinan Academy of Fine Arts!” We met for the first time then, but I didn’t know that she was Tanju and Hülya’s daughter. After that, we met a few more times, more precisely, I secretly followed him once or twice. Everything that was between us was completely platonic, nothing more happened. Years later, we met again on the set of Seherazade, we realized that that spark was always there between us, it never went away – he explained.
He said that the actress also liked him as a man, but as a shy and sensitive woman, he didn’t show his sympathy, so they drifted apart. Meanwhile, the handsome actor got married and married Gizem in 2007. When they were filming together, the actor’s marriage broke down, although there were rumors that he was cheating on his wife with his colleague, but this was denied. More developed between them only after Ergenç’s marriage broke down for good.
They finally got married in 2009, and then they didn’t wait long to start a family, their son Ali was born in 2010. After that, they did not have another child for a long time, in 2020 they had a second child, who was named Han. Their daughter Leyla was born in 2021. They are currently raising their children in London, they moved out this year.
