The star captain about the coaching chaos: – I have confidence in the club

On Friday, TV 2 could tell that more players in Stjernen want coach Anders Olsson fired from work. TV 2 knows that several players have put up a hard fight and said that they will no longer show up if Olsson is allowed to continue. As TV 2 understands it, work is now being done to release the coach from the contract.

On Saturday, the Fredrikstad team lasted up with a strong turnaround operation against Frisk Asker. From being below 0-4, they beat the away team 5-4 after penalty kicks. They did it without Olsson on the sidelines.

After Saturday’s match, it was a lot about the unwanted Swede.

– I do not know how much I will answer it and say about it there. We try to shut it out and focus on what we can focus on, and it’s out on the ice, says captain Andreas Heier to TV 2, and adds:

– I have full confidence that the club does the right thing and makes the right decisions. It probably does not take very long. Then we have to stand together as a club and team, and make the best of it.

Heier further says that they have been told by the club management not to say too much to the media about the Olsson situation. The captain trusts that the club will make the right decision.

– We relate to the information we receive from the board and those who are our bosses. We show up for training and matches and that is what we get influenced.

Think the substitute can be a good Olsson replacement

In the Swede’s absence, it was Lasse Fjeldstad who led the team on Saturday. He describes the situation in the club as “a bit confusing”.

– We have longed to play a match. There has been a lot of different focus now, says Fjeldstad to TV 2.

The substitute coach was happy that his team managed to focus and come back against Frisk Asker in Saturday’s match.

– I am very happy to work with this group here. We have shown several times this year that we can come back after falling behind with several goals. So there is a lot of character in the team, he says.

Captain Heier can imagine that Fjeldstad will be the man to take the team further.

– Yes, he was the coach for us last year, and we ended the season with seven straight victories. Unfortunately, the season was canceled after that, but he has shown before that he has good hockey knowledge. No matter who coaches us for the rest of the season, we play for the team and the club.

The star is in second place in the Fjordkraft league after 31 games, seven points behind the leading Stavanger Oilers.
