The Standard & Poor’s 500 closed lower on recession fears

close The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell on Wednesday, After a series of disappointing corporate results revived concerns about the economic impact of the hawkish policy of the Federal Reserve (US Central Bank).

All US stock indices trimmed their losses during afternoon trading, to close away from their lowest levels for the session.

According to preliminary data, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 0.73 points, or 0.02%, to close at 4,016.22 points.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 20.92 points, or 0.2%, to close at 11,313.35 points.

The Dow Jones Composite Index rose 5.67 points, or 0.03%, to close at 33,742.72 points.
