The stage concept of Zelta mikrofons’23 is created by designer Artūrs Analts / Diena

“It is important for me to tear down borders, walls and open windows to something new. At this ceremony, this will be seen in the performances, where the songs of various performers will be artistically combined with visually bright and conceptually thought-out stories,” says Artūrs Analts, appreciating all involved parties – as artists and producers, its directors, lighting and cameramen – the great involvement in the work process. This interdisciplinary cooperation has given an opportunity to look at the usual format of the event from the outside and will result in an exciting, memorable event.

The artist introduces the concept of the stage: “It is a house that represents the special environment of each musician and each song. Homes are important to everyone – currently there is mass migration in the world due to wars, climate change and economic crises, while music gives people support, understanding and hope , because at the end of the day we are all under one roof.”

“After two years of the pandemic, again with the audience and in the biggest venue – this is a step forward for the ceremony itself, so we also wanted to take an equivalent step in the stage concept and TV realization and go away from the very usual direction of this type of show realization,” says Golden Microphone’23 show and live TV producer Ilze Jansone. “Arthur has an amazing ability to translate any text or thought into visual vision and color. He immediately sees which hero of the story should be in his “picture” – a musician, a band, so in fact he is also the director of many performances,” says Ilze Jansone.

Golden Microphone’23 attendees of the ceremony in person, as well as TV viewers, will have visited each musician and looked into their windows. The stage will have three parts that will create a common rhythm. So, for example, musicians will say thanksgiving speeches from the balcony, while the window frames of the house will help to better focus attention on the specific performance. Meanwhile, in-person attendees will have the chance to experience behind-the-scenes wonders that won’t be visible to TV viewers and meet music stars on the red carpet.

The part of the ceremony concert will consist of musical performances, including premieres and unusual collaborations. On the evening of February 18, you will be able to hear the bands Astro’n’out, Iron Wolf, DaGamba, Musiqq, Tautumeitas, Other boys. Don, Aija Andrejeva, Olga Rajecka, Shipsea and Ługa will also perform. Nice weather and Elīza Legzdiņa, Ozols, roland če, Arturs Skutelis, Zeļgis, and the fund Consonance musicians Atis Zviedris, Ralf Eiland and Katrīna Dimanta.

Artūrs Analts is a Latvian artist and designer whose works have gained international recognition and are appreciated in Latvia as well. In 2018, Analta’s interactive installation Matter to Matter won the London Design Biennale Jury Prize and set a record for the number of one-day visitors in the history of exhibitions at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. Analts has designed the collection of the Bank of Latvia Honey for a coin and designed the centenary exhibitions of the Bank of Latvia Marks of values concept.

The TV direction in this ceremony was entrusted to the experienced Ukrainian TV director Marina Šaleva, who has been living in Latvia since the beginning of the war. “I believe that Marina is the strongest TV director available in our region at the moment, she has a lot of experience working in just such and more ambitious events,” Janson says.

The concert parts of the ceremony, stage performances and TV realization are Buzz Division under the supervision of producers Ilze Jansone and Pēteras Krievkalns, the author of the screenplay is Aleksis Vilcinņš.
