The stage became the storm during Melodifestivalen

A person stormed the stage during Loreen’s (39) performance in Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s Melodi Grand Prix. After performing the feature again, she is now through to the final.

The Swedes are in full swing with semi-finals, and on Saturday “Euphoria” star Loreen, the big winner from 2012, is among those who are in the fire.

The 39-year-old and the song “Tattoo” have been among the biggest favorites in Sweden so far. Loreen also has icon status with Eurovision fans in Europe.

In the middle of her performance on Saturday, a person stormed the stage. Photos from the broadcast show that the person is said to have held up a sign, and that some security guards apparently had to intervene.

It must have been a climate activist, according to Expressen.

After a short time, Loreen was able to restart the feature.

– Loreen’s performance was interrupted and the TV viewers did not get to experience it as it was intended. We therefore decided that she should be allowed to perform it in its entirety again, says Anders Wistbacka, project manager for Melodifestivalen, to SVT.

He says they don’t know exactly what happened, but they are investigating.

Loreen is now through to the final of Melodifestivalen.

It also went wrong during the practice ahead, where Loreen injured one of her ten centimeter long nails, writes Expressen.

The nail, which was made of the stone smoky quartz, came loose and caused a bloody injury to the artist’s finger.

– What do you not do for art, Loreen said afterwards.

However, she ended up changing her nails, but to ones of the same length – also those made of stone.

Sounds leaked

The run-up to Saturday’s semi-final was marked by the fact that a recording of Loreen’s entire performance at the dress rehearsal was leaked for the broadcast.

The evening paper wrote about how the organizers worked hard to track down the source and stop the spread of the performance.

Seven years have passed since Loreen, or Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui as she is actually called, secured Sweden’s victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku in Azerbaijan.

In 2017 she tried again, but that time she was knocked out in the second chance.

The dolphin final was the fourth in a row, before the Swedes organize a semi-final on 4 March and a grand final on 11 March.

Norwegian Marcus & Martinus have already secured a place in the final with the song “Air”.

Other Swedish contributions have also leaked online and been spread on social media, including the performance of Marcus & Martinus.

According to the Swedish regulations, no songs are to be distributed until all the semi-finals have been completed.

Ukraine has been the Eurovision favorite until now. At the weekend, however, Sweden snuck by Oddschecker. Ukraine is now in second place, followed by Finland in third and Norway in fourth.

That Sweden is high on the betting itself before the final the entry has been selected, is connected to the fact that Sweden is the country that has won the second most times (six) in the Eurovision Song Contest – after Ireland (seven).
