The free festival in Sontheim will take place next weekend from Saturday to Sunday, September 7th and 8th.

Sontheim ad Brenz. Swabian, cultural and free: the Stadel Open Air in Sontheim is entering its fourth edition next weekend. On September 7th and 8th, the event team, around 15 young adults from the Brenztal Culture Friends, are offering a festival of various musical styles. Entry is free again this year, and the proceeds from the stands go to a good cause. The Brenztal Culture Friends want to build on the successes of previous years and are once again delivering a program full of different artists this year. It starts on Saturday, September 7th, at 5 p.m. with the obligatory tapping of the keg. This will be followed by performances by artists and bands from both the region and beyond, such as “Skameleon”, a cover band from Hesse.

MC Bruddaal as Highlight

“A personal highlight will be MC Bruddaal,” says Lukas Weiß from the board of Kulturfreunde Brenztal: “He combines Swabian with hip-hop character.” In addition to the established artists, one band was given a wildcard for one performance on each of the two days. Over ten bands and artists competed for the two free spots. “5Rock” is also a band from Sontheim. “We can be particularly excited about the fusion of brass and ska styles with Tabula Rasa and Skameleon,” adds Weiß.

As in previous years, admission will be free. Last year, a large portion of the proceeds were donated to “Musicians Without Borders”. “Music is for everyone, so everyone can come and enjoy it,” says Weiß. The festival location has also not changed: at the end of Wiesenstraße, which is on the border between Sontheim and Brenz. Sontheim train station is within sight, so it is also possible to get there using public transport. (Erik Tham)
