The SSH wants to increase altruistic blood donation | The Universal Hidalgo

The Hidalgo Health Secretariat (SSH) and Hidalgo State Blood Transfusion Center (CETS) They call on the public about the importance of donating blood voluntarily to encourage more people to do so, as altruistic donation allows us to have a safe enough supply system us.

This downward trend is a cause for concern, because, in general, the population only comes to donate blood as another person, that is, to meet the requirement when they have a family member who undergoes surgery

This represents that, of the total number of units that are collected each year, only a minimum percentage is based on a voluntary contribution.

Blood and its components (plasma and platelets) necessary to increase the life expectancy and quality of life of people suffering from diseases such as severe anemia or cancer.

They also allow complex medical and surgical procedures in emergency situations. One donation can save up to three lives emergency health conditions.

The CETS serves all hospitals in the Union, which is why it is important to have voluntary contributions to help meet public sector demand and, above all , to cover the different blood types.
