Despite an excellent LaMarcus Aldridge, the San Antonio Spurs failed to overthrow the Los Angeles Clippers in their room at the Staples Center (113-110). The Californians did not really have the right to make mistakes to stay in the race for the playoffs, they who are in 10th place in the Western Conference. In Florida, Miami validated its ticket to the finals by winning in front of Atlanta (101-98). In the other games of the night, Boston lost to Milwaukee and the Golden State Warriors won the clash against Oklahoma.

LaMarcus Aldridge (35 points, 9 rebounds) and Patty Mills (17 points, 5 assists) were not enough for San Antonio. The Spurs however dominated most of the meeting. But the last quarter was fatal to them against the Clippers who were playing a good part of their chances of the playoffs. In the tradition of Lou Williams and Austin Rivers – excellent late in the game – the Californians remain on the lookout in the standings (10th) of the Western Conference.
It was one of the shocks of the night in the NBA. And for the second time in three games this season, Lebron James’ teammates have shown the Eastern Conference leader they can be counted on. With 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, James made … James, well assisted by his lieutenants Kevin Love and José Calderon. The Cavaliers finish very strong the regular season since they remain on 9 victories in their last 10 games. They thus keep their place on the podium of the Eastern Conference (3rd) in front of Philadelphia.
By overthrowing the Celtics, the Bucks have taken a good step towards the playoffs. With a once again stratospheric Giannis Antetokounmpo (29 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists), the Bucks can validate their ticket for the finals on Thursday in the event of Detroit’s defeat against the Philadelphia Sixers. Boston remains on its side two wins from Toronto. Good thing, the Celtics challenge them to the next game.
This time it’s good for the Heat. After missing out on a place in the playoffs for a small victory last year, Dwyane Wade’s compatriots validated their presence in the finals by winning 101-98 against the Hawks, last in the Eastern Conference. But far from it has been easy for the Florida franchise. She was able to count on a very good Goran Dragic (22 points, 10 rebounds) and a shot from Hassan Whiteside (18 points, 12 rebounds) one minute from time to secure victory.
The Warriors chained a third consecutive victory against the Thunder of Russell Westbrook, on fire last night (44 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists) but too alone. He could not count on Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, a tone below their leader. On the Warriors side, without Livingston, Iguodala, McCaw but especially Stephen Curry – injured – the performance of a Kevin Durant, booed by his former audience but brilliant (34 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists), did a lot of good to the Oakland franchise. If they had nothing to play because they are sure to finish second in the Western Conference behind Houston, the Warriors therefore continue their good series. For the Thunder, things get complicated: still not guaranteed a qualification in the playoffs, OKC has only two victories ahead of Denver, 9th with one game less.
