Circle. The sports region was founded on May 14, 1996 with the aim of improving intercommunal cooperation in sports as an association. The 32 municipalities, 22 sports associations and six sports circles have meanwhile grown to more than 100 members, including the Stuttgart Olympic Training Center and the Stuttgart Region Association. The office has been located in Stuttgart’s Neckar Park since 2007. From there, the employees develop ideas to improve the image of the sports region, for example with the network event “Bundesliga Brunch” and the “Sport Talk” event series, which also came to Kirchheim in 2017. In addition, the sports region supports Olympic starters with scholarships.
In the anniversary year there are various activities such as panel discussions, the “NaturVision Film Festival” in Ludwigsburg and the podcast “The Voice of Sports”. A foretaste of the anniversary year will be available on Tuesday, April 20, on the sports region’s social media channels. A surprise is planned for the founding day, May 14th. pm
