The Saudi football club Al Hilal is said to spend a lot of money trying to find the next top striker. English broadcaster Sky Sports reported that Al Hilal had offered Italian champions SSC Napoli 140 million euros for Nigerian Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old, who made a decisive contribution to winning the title for the first time in 33 years with 26 goals this season, will be offered a weekly salary of around one million euros, it said.
Osimhen’s contract in Naples runs until 2025, and talks about an early extension are said to have failed. FC Bayern Munich is said to have thought about a commitment in the meantime, but honorary president Uli Hoeneß described the former Wolfsburg player as “completely priceless”. Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé is said to have recently turned down talks with Al Hilal after reports his club had accepted an offer of a record €300m transfer fee. Argentinian world footballer Lionel Messi, who is also being courted by Al Hilal, decided to join Inter Miami.
