Behind the walls of a Pardubice apartment in the Trnová district lives a man who is accused of the general’s death. He claims that on a fateful day he really stepped hard on the gas. “Disproportionately given the situation,” Vojtech Chaura replied to a question from a Nova TV reporter if he was driving fast.

It is said that expert opinions also showed it. According to the locals, the defendant has lived at this address for only a few months and some people cannot forget the accident.

According to information from TV Nova, derogatory inscriptions appear on its mailbox from time to time. The last time it was said was the word killer.

The lawsuit is in court. Men face six years in prison for two crimes, namely negligent death and grievous bodily harm. The main trial does not have a specific date yet. But it will probably start this year. “It’s being worked on. It will come now. It will be resolved,” Chaura said.

Last September 21, a bloated orange mustang with Chaura behind the wheel swept the crew in the opposite direction in a Škoda. Brigadier General Milan Jakubů died on the spot. A few days later he had a funeral with military honors in Jihlava.

500 people came to say goodbye to him, including military leaders. “He was my long-term deputy, so it hit me hard,” said the commander of military intelligence, Jan Beroun.

The general’s wife ended up with serious injuries in the hospital. A 12-year-old boy rode with Chaura in the passenger seat. The damage to the sports car alone was a million crowns.

Gambling was normal for Chaura not only during the races, but also in normal traffic. On an ordinary road, the tachometer shows 160 kilometers per hour. It turns out that Chaura did nothing about traffic regulations even before the accident. For example, he had himself filmed riding his railroad tracks with his young son.
