The Spectacular New Decor of Tiffany & Co Store in New York: A Fusion of Art and History

Behind its famous facade adorned with a statue of Atlas supporting a clock, both restored, we now discover an impressive installation on the ceiling evoking an abstract skylight, high mirrors that change into video walls projecting views of Central Park and the emblematic New York skyline, as well as works by Julian Schnabel, Rashid Johnson, Anna Weyant and Daniel Arsham, spread over the ten levels of the building. The glorious past of the place is not to be outdone, in particular by the grace of a wooden floor reproducing identically that of 1940, the year of the very first opening, and a grandiose spiral staircase, enhanced with crystals of rock evoking the sensual and organic shapes imagined by Elsa Peretti for some of Tiffany’s most innovative jewelry collections.
