A Russian, a German, a Canadian and a South African enter a bar …

Battlefield 2042 as is well known, skips the traditional classes, in order to instead focus on named “specialists” á la Rainbow Six. These have now been shown in a new trailer from the game.
First out is the Canadian Webster Mackay, who represents the assault class and can move extra fast when he aims and is on cable cars. His specialty is a sniper rifle that allows him to pull to distant or high places.
He is joined by the German Maria Falck, who represents the support class and is given a special pistol she can use to heal herself and other players, even from a distance. She can also revive teammates to full health.
Russia is also represented, and that of the engineer Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky. He can place an automatic turret, and he can make it even more efficient by standing close to it.
It all ends with the South African Wikus “Casper” Van Daele, who represents the Recon class. He comes equipped with a drone that can mark enemy positions and disrupt their electronics. He also gets a motion sensor that warns if someone tries to sneak up on him from behind.
In addition to these predetermined abilities, however, we will be free to choose which weapons we want to use, so if you want to be an engineer with a sniper rifle, it goes great. We are still waiting for the open beta test to be announced, but we know at least that the finished game will be released on October 22, or 15th October if you are an EA Play Pro subscriber or pre-book the correct version of the game.
