Le Temps de Vivre Club Elects New Leadership and Plans for 2025
On Wednesday, January 15, the Le temps de Vivre club, a vibrant association for seniors, held its general meeting at the Courteline room in Luynes. The gathering, led by interim vice-president Louis-Marie Collinet, marked a significant transition for the club following the passing of its long-serving president, Monique Esnault, on December 24.
Collinet opened the meeting with a heartfelt tribute, stating, “I would first like to ask for a minute of silence to be observed in tribute to our very late president monique Esnault and to remind us of the quality of her action in the management of our club.” Esnault had led the association for six years, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and community spirit.

Charting the Course Ahead: An Interview with Louis-Marie Collinet, New President of Le Temps de Vivre Club
INTRODUCREMENTARY PARAGRAPH
As the vibrant Le Temps de Vivre club bids farewell to its late president Monique Esnault and welcomes a new leadership team, we sat down with the newly elected president, Louis-Marie Collinet, to discuss the club’s achievements, future plans, and commitments to fostering community and engagement among seniors.
A Fitting tribute and Looking Back at 2024
Senior Editor (SE): Louis-Marie, the general meeting began with a tribute to Monique Esnault. Can you share more about that moment and how the club is honoring her legacy?
Louis-Marie Collinet (LC): Indeed, Monique was a pillar of this club, and her passing was deeply felt. We started the meeting with a minute of silence to pay our respects and remember the astounding dedication she brought to Le temps de Vivre. Her legacy will continue to inspire us as we move forward, always striving to foster the same sense of community and spirit she cultivated.
SE: Last year was marked by growth and diverse activities. Could you walk us through some of the key achievements and events in 2024?
LC: Certainly! Last year was quite successful for our club. We welcomed six new members, bringing our total number to 125. We also organized a wide range of activities that our members truly enjoyed – outings to cultural events like the Bodin’s show, themed meals, tastings, and quarterly birthday parties. But what I’m moast proud of is our partnership with the local hospital, allowing us to visit residents and engage with them through joint activities.
Financial Update and New Leadership
SE: The financial report for 2024 showed a slight deficit, primarily due to the generous donation made to the Telethon. How does the club balance its commitment to community engagement with financial responsibility?
LC: Balancing these two aspects is indeed a challenge. We’re dedicated to supporting initiatives like the telethon and engaging with our community, but we also have a responsibility to manage our finances wisely. Despite the deficit, our account balance remains healthy, allowing us to continue planning activities and events for our members.
SE: Speaking of which, a new leadership team was elected during the meeting. How does this team plan to build on the past and drive the club forward?
LC: With the new team in place, we’re excited to continue Monique’s legacy and take the club to new heights. I, Louis-Marie Collinet, will serve as president, alongside Odette Ploquin as treasurer, Gilbert Darq as secretary, and Ghislaine LEspagneg, Bernard Guibout, and James Archambault as office members. Together, we’re committed to maintaining the club’s strong sense of community and ensuring our members have engaging and meaningful experiences.
Looking Ahead to 2025
SE: What can we expect from Le Temps de Vivre in 2025? Any upcoming programs or plans you’d like to share?
LC: With the new office now elected, we’re eager to establish an exciting program of activities for 2025. We’re committed to continuing the successful initiatives from last year, such as our partnership with the hospital, while also exploring new opportunities for our members to connect, learn, and grow together. Stay tuned for more details on the 2025 program!
