The special Traffic operation has so far recorded two deaths and three seriously injured in Castilla y León

The special traffic operation, on the occasion of the Constitución and La Inmaculada bridge, recorded, until 8 p.m. today, two dead and three seriously injured in the accident that took place last Tuesday between the towns of Herreros and Villaverde del Monte , belonging to the municipality of Cidones (Soria). The incident is the only serious one recorded in the Community since the operation began, although the closure will occur at midnight. Compared to the same period in previous years, with five days of long weekend as occurred in 2017, the death toll is higher, since on that occasion one death was recorded although there were 19 injured.

The first of the traffic accidents occurred around 4 p.m., coinciding with the start of the departure operation last Tuesday, December 5, when there was a head-on collision between two cars, which left two people dead and three seriously injured. The accident occurred at kilometer 372.5 of the N-234 highway, between the towns of Herreros and Villaverde del Monte, belonging to the municipality of Cidones (Soria).

To the scene of the accident, which forced the temporary closure of the road, members of the Soria Fire Department, the Civil Guard of Traffic and Health Emergencies, Sacyl mobilized a medical helicopter, a mobile ICU and a basic life support ambulance. in addition to a medical team from the Soria Sur health center.

At the scene, emergency agencies confirmed the death of two people and also treated three other injured people. Two of them were transferred by mobile ICU and basic life support ambulance to the Soria Hospital. The third was evacuated by medical helicopter to the University Hospital of Burgos.

In one of the vehicles, the two occupants were seriously injured and in the other, of the three, one was also seriously injured and two people lost their lives.
Three slightly injured in multiple collision

Furthermore, today at noon, three people were slightly injured after a multiple collision, with six vehicles involved, on the A-6, near Villalobos (Zamora), towards Madrid. In the entire case, the two women and the minor were taken by ambulance to the Benavente Hospital.

Around 1:20 p.m., a significant traffic jam of 19 kilometers was recorded on the A-1 between Castillejo de Mesleón (Segovia) and Robregordo (Madrid) due to another traffic accident, which caused the closure of the left lane of the highway.

The A-1, in the province of Segovia, was the one that presented the greatest complications, with delays due to a traffic accident between kilometers 97.5, near La Rades (Segovia) and 85, in Robregordo (Madrid) . There were also traffic jams on this highway between Boceguillas (kilometer point 117) and La Rades (98).
Furthermore, according to the information provided by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and collected by the Ical Agency, traffic complications were recorded at different points of the A-6 in the provinces of Valladolid and Zamora. Specifically, there was congestion during ten kilometers in Villalpando (Zamora), due to the existence of a fixed obstacle on the road due to an accident. In the Valladolid province, the difficulties were concentrated in seven kilometers near Medina del Campo and five kilometers in Rueda.
Finally, traffic was slow in the early afternoon on the AP-1, in the province of Burgos, between Orbaneja-Río Pico and Rubena (six kilometers) and Briviesca (two kilometers).
At 8 p.m., there were only some complications on the AP-1, in the province of Burgos, with Basque drivers returning to their Community. Specifically, there was a yellow level of “irregular” traffic in 5.5 kilometers between Quintanapalla and Santa Marina, in the direction of Vitoria.
