As “Delfi” informed the representatives of the National Theater, the concert will be attended by the State Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” conducted by Normunds Šnē and an instrumental group led by Raimonds Macata.
In anticipation of his anniversary, Maestro has invited the outstanding opera singer Elīna Garanča, dedicating two cycles of songs to her – with poetry by Vizma Belševica and Ojārs Vācietis. Both stage artists have already met in the chamber music program in 2016.
The second part of the concert includes songs from movies and theater performances with music by Raimonds Pauls, for which especially new arrangements are made by composers – each outstanding and unique in their field – Lolita Ritmane, Rihards Dubra, Jēkabs Jančevskis and Raimonds Macats.
Tickets for the National Theater and “Ticket Paradise” box offices will be available from October 20.
Well-known composer and pianist, author of many popular songs Raimonds Pauls born on January 12, 1936 in Riga. The 85th anniversary of the Maestro will be celebrated at the beginning of next year.
