Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Yassina was sent on indefinite leave due to his demands for an apology from Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky for the Volyn tragedy. This was reported on Tuesday, May 30, by RMF FM.
It is noted that Yasina probably will not return to her post.
“Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Yassin has been suspended from duty, he is on indefinite leave, from which he probably will not return to his post,” the message says.
On May 20, a spokesman for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lukasz Yasina, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should apologize for the 1943 Volyn tragedy. Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasily Zvarych called this approach unacceptable.
Recall that the Volyn tragedy has long been a point of tension in bilateral relations between Ukraine and Poland, however, since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, this topic has almost disappeared from the information space.
