The Spanish left expresses its support for Sheinbaum

The entire Spanish left expressed its unwavering support for the candidacy led by Claudia Sheinbaum and the transformation movement embodied in the 4T, which they set as an example to follow in Spain, Latin America and the rest of the world. One of the most explicit supports was that of the secretary of international politics of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), Hana Jalloul, who is also vice president of the Socialist International (SI), to which paradoxically the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) also belongs. ).

In the auditorium of the Julián Basteiro School, which belongs to the General Union of Workers (UGT), representatives of the Spanish left wing, both political parties, civil movements and unions, gathered to express their support for Sheinbaum’s candidacy. Among the forces that decided to step forward and openly support his candidacy were the PSOE, Izquierda Unida (IU), the Spanish Communist Party (PCE), Más País, Podemos, the UGT, Workers’ Commissions (CCOO), the Partido of Brazilian Labor and Latin American political groups, such as Argentina Soberana, Frente Migrante de Madrid and Espacio Latinoamericano.

The socialist Jalloul explained that her support for Sheinbaum is also a way to share the fight against “lawfare” and to “defend democracy and institutions”, which are being threatened, both “here and there” by “reactionary forces of the extreme right”. “I believe and hope that Claudia Sheinbaum will win, she has it more or less easy thanks to the immense work behind the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador to fight against poverty and inequality,” said the Spanish politician.
