Crew Dragon, a manned spacecraft by SpaceX, a US company founded by Ilona Mask, joined the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday to transport four astronauts from the United States, France and Japan.
The Falcon 9 spacecraft capsule launched from a spaceport in Florida on Friday with a launch vehicle. A team of astronauts arrived at the International Space Station on Saturday after a 23-hour flight.
The capsule joined it autonomously when the station was in Earth orbit at an altitude of 420 kilometers above the Indian Ocean. This was the third SpaceX flight to the International Space Station in a year.
However, this is significant because SpaceX reused the same spacecraft for the first time.
The capsule also launched astronauts into orbit last May, and the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was also reused on Friday after a successful return to Earth in November, when it took another capsule into orbit.
Four astronauts will spend six months at the space station, replacing four colleagues who will return to Earth on Wednesday with the Crew Dragon spacecraft.
