The South Lampung Health Office treated 1,910 people suffering from TB

South Lampung (ANTARA) – The South Lampung District Health Service, Lampung Province, treated 1,910 people suffering from tuberculosis (TB) in South Lampung from January to October 2024.

The Head of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Department in the South Lampung Health Office, Jamaluddin, in Kalianda, said on Tuesday that the number of TB cases detected was 1,910, and that they were treated and treated at all local health center and hospital.

Even though South Lampung is free from dramatic incidents due to TB, the local Health Department continues to make efforts and measures to reduce the number of people suffering from TB, and one is of these by educating the public about being vigilant about the spread of the disease.

“We continue to do outreach and ask the people of South Lampung to always be vigilant about TB disease, as the number of cases is still high,” he said.

According to him, in order to reduce the number of TB cases, the role of all communities, groups and organizations that are concerned with the prevention and control of TB, which is an infectious disease, is needed.

“So in cases with tuberculosis the method of transmission is almost the same as for COVID-19, that is by spraying phlegm,” he said.

He asked people who have symptoms of TB, such as coughing up phlegm for two weeks or more, as the main symptom, to check themselves immediately at a health service facility in their area.
