Two evenings at the Kremerata Baltica festival, a double anniversary was celebrated – the violinist’s 75th birthday and the orchestra’s 25th anniversary. –

“The goal was to build a bridge from my youth to their future. And I’m glad we’ve been walking that bridge for 25 years, we’ve been all over the world, and our story is still going on. It’s the most important thing for him to continue with or without me, but for “Kremerata” to live long, “says Gidon Kremer.

Musician Madara Pētersone reveals that she has been playing in “Kremerata” for almost 10 years:

“It first started with the sounds of Gidon Kremer, addressed to the depths of the soul, and he has achieved the impossible, because the orchestra sounds as much as his voice.

The most wonderful thing that comes from him is the return of its giants, no sound passes by, I think that the listeners hear it very well, that every sound we create has life, there are all emotions, all the range of emotions, all life is what we spend on stage. “

The concert of the second day of the festival “Kremerata Baltica” was opened by the rarely performed “Chamber Symphony” by the 20th century Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov, followed by works by Robert Schumann, Georg Peletis and Frederic Chopin. Along with Gidon Kremer and his orchestra, there was also the great pianist Georgy Osokin and percussionist Andrei Pushkarev on stage, who says of Kremer: “He is a very creative personality, very creative by nature, always unusual and interesting with him, because he never repeats. a new concert is different, wonderful, and it’s so great! And we all learn to be at the same time and so unusual. Each concert is unique. “

Gidon Kremer started playing the violin with his father and grandfather at the age of four, at the age of seven he entered the Riga Music School, received the first prize of the Republic of Latvia at the age of 16, started studying at the Moscow Conservatory at the age of 18 and triumphed at several prestigious festivals. for example, in 1967 at the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, in 1969 at the Montreal International Music Competition, twice won 1st place in the Tchaikovsky International Competition.

Talent, perseverance, excellent education and relentless work ability have allowed Gidon Kremer to achieve world recognition and perform on the world’s most prestigious concert hall stages. The world – famous violinist plays an instrument made by Nikola Amati: “Before that I also had very good instruments, but now for 15 years I have only played Amati, I fell in love, and I traveled around the world with love.

A good tool is satisfaction, of course, but we all carry our tools inside. For us, this instrument sounds – it is our soul, and if we manage to play, show, share something of it – it is wonderful.
