The Soria Golf Club held the second edition of its Summer Tournament this Saturday, an event that brought together 65 participants who responded to the call for a fun and sporting day.
In strictly sporting terms, the tournament was played under the Individual Stableford game modality over 18 holes. In the Men’s Scratch, where up to 58 players gathered, the final victory went to the member of the Dehesa de Morón Club, David García Navalpotro, with a total of 38 points compared to the 34 of the second classified, Diego Oriol (Golf Pineda), who in turn was tied in the score with up to three more rivals, all of them from the host club: Enzo Jiménez, José Javier Sainz and Miguel López.
In the women’s category, local player Fuencisla Ramos dominated with 20 points, followed by María Cruz Molina (Villa de Madrid) with 16.
Ramos herself was the winner of the Ladies Handicap with 39 points over her clubmate Carmen Ayllón.
In the men’s section, in the First Category Handicap, the winner was the player from Pineda Diego Oriol, with 41 points, followed closely by the young Enzo Jiménez (40 points). In the Second Category, the winner of the day was Saúl Fernández (CG Soria), who won despite the tie in the classification table at 43 points with the player from the Centro Nacional Ignacio Marichalar.
Registration included green fees and a picnic, as well as entering the raffle for prizes.
At the end of the tournament, a lunch was held at the club’s Restaurant by Lali, where the prestigious chef offered a menu consisting of a crispy prawn salad; oxtail in Ribera wine; and a special homemade dessert.
