Sony has announced the date of the next press conference to introduce the new Xperia. The event will take place on April 14 at 9:30 our time and will probably be streamed on YouTube.
Xperia 1 III: for the first time with a 120Hz 4K display and periscope camera
Sony is expected to unveil a new flagship smartphone, which will probably be the Xperia 1 III. This phone should be equipped for the first time with a 6.5 “OLED panel with 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is a deadly combination on battery paper. However, we expect Sony to make a lot of optimizations to keep the phone on one charge for as long as possible. A large battery with an expected capacity of 5,000 mAh and support for fast charging with an output of up to 65 watts will also help.
The display is not to be the only innovation planned by the Xperia, there is also speculation about a periscope zoom camera, which will come from the Sony CyberShot division. The camera should be triple, in addition to the zoom camera should get a main 64Mpx camera and a 12Mpx wide.
The Xperia 1 III will be a full-fledged flagship smartphone, so we can look forward to the Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 888 and reportedly up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Missing no memory card slot or even a headphone jack.
A total of three smartphones?
The Xperia 1 III is not supposed to be the only smartphone that will be introduced at the upcoming press conference. According to leaks from the network Weibo Xperia 10 III and Xperia 5 III smartphones will also be unveiled. In the latter case, however, we would be reluctant, as the Sony Xperia 5 series usually presents in the fall. However, the arrival of the Xperia 10 III is very likely, this phone even appeared in the benchmark recently GeekBenchwhich revealed the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset and 6 GB of RAM.
