The group “Sudden Lights” has released the single “Lanterns”. The song, created some time ago, has acquired an additional dimension in the context of these days – it is a call to keep the inner light and hope for the good.
“The song is about ourselves, about the insecurity and fear of the darkness around us and the light that can pass through it. In a way, this piece is a manifesto of Sudden Lights – we want to be “lanterns” that dispel darkness and show the way forward. We will be really happy if even a small part of this light reaches our listeners, ”says the group’s soloist Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis about the message of the song.
Director Mārtiņš Goldbergs comments on the video’s message: “The mirror reflects light and the world around us, and light is like a symbol of enlightenment, consciousness and wisdom. When these two elements come together, the mirror symbolizes the truth – it reflects what is true. With this in mind, we used the laws of physics to reflect the truth of the moment, which does not always look correct or logical. ”
“Lantern” music has been created in one of our creative summer camps, “jamming” and letting go of our inner rockers. Later we honed the sound by playing with different synthesizers and effects. This song is something that has not been at all in our music – an alloy of electrically synthetic sound and unaccustomed rock, which was created by experimenting with different styles of music, ”remembers the band’s bassist Kārlis Vārtiņš.
