The song is used Trump Campaign, Rolling Stones Threaten with Lawsuits

KOMPAS.com – Band legenderis Rolling Stones take decisive steps to prevent the President Donald Trump use his songs when campaign.

The British band gave an official warning after Trump ignored the previous warning.

The Rolling Stones announced that BMI’s legal team and performing rights organization had sent an official letter to Trump’s campaign team.

In that letter, there was a warning that if he used the band’s songs, Trump would face lawsuits.

“On behalf of the Rolling Stones BMI has warned the Trump campaign team that their unauthorized use of their song was declared to violate copyright,” the Rolling Stones said on Saturday (6/26/2020).

“If Donald Trump ignores that, he will face lawsuits for violating the embargo and playing music without permission,” the Rolling Stones spokesman continued.

The Rolling Stones have warned Trump about using his songs.

At that time Trump played the song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” in a campaign in the 2016 presidential election.

The band immediately issued an official statement via Twitter that they never supported Donald Trump and the campaign used the song without permission.

But the song was played again at the campaign in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 20 last.
