Alexandru Bratu, a 12th grade student at the “Tudor Vladimirescu” National College in Târgu Jiu, managed to qualify, along with two other colleagues, for the national phase of the Geography Olympiad.
Last year, high school student Mihai Alexandru Bratu was designated by the Ministry of Education as the best Romanian participant of all time at the International Linguistic Olympiad.
A student in the 11th grade at the “Tudor Vladimirescu” National College in Târgu Jiu, Mihai won the gold medal twice at the International Linguistic Olympiad, in 2021 and 2022.
In addition, he managed another remarkable performance, winning this year the silver medal at the International Geography Olympiad. It should be mentioned that Mihai also managed to participate in the National Informatics Olympiad last year.
Alexandru wanted to study at a famous university in the Netherlands: “I’m thinking of going to Informatics in the Netherlands. I like Computer Science because it has interdisciplinary applications. I think it is an interesting experience to go to college in another country, and the universities there are better rated, in the international rankings, compared to those in Romania. I will apply to several universities, but I want to go to Delft University of Technology”.
