The Sole TVR Cerbera Speed 12 Up for Auction – Brawny, Though Not Pretty (+ Snapshot)

If someone wants to get a truly unique, one-of-a-kind supercar, then the 840 hp TVR Cerbera Speed 12, which, in addition, is approved for public roads, is the right choice.

Silverstone Auctions has announced such a car for its May 20 auction, promising to reveal the price upon request.

The author of the Cerbera is TVR, a small British sports car manufacturer that caused a sensation in the 90s and 2000s with very light and powerful cars. Later, TVR did not do so well anymore, there were changes of owners and endless promises to resume production. The owners included a motley audience, including businessmen of Russian origin, but things did not progress. The latest news about TVR can be found on Wikipedia and it shows that in 2022 the company announced its focus on the production of electric cars, demonstrating the Griffith EV model and promising to launch it in 2024.

TVR Cerbera Speed 12 was built back in the “good old days”. The model with this name was released by TVR in the mid-90s, equipping it with 365 and 426 hp V8 of its own design. A 4.0-liter V6 with 348 hp was later developed and patented.

The company also started developing a racing version. It used a 7.7 liter V12 to compete in the GT1 class. This is how the name Speed12 was born. After the end of the GT1 classification, the car was converted for use in the GT2 class.

TVR also began accepting applications for a street version of the Cerbera Speed 12, but the project was eventually canceled. In 2003, it was decided to build one car, and that is the car that is now being auctioned.

It’s a purebred sports car with an integrated roll cage, two carbon fiber sports seats and a weight of less than 1000 kg, despite the 840 hp twelve-cylinder engine.
