Sofia Municipality is preparing the construction of a multi-storey car park through a public-private partnership in the “Studentski” area. For this purpose, a competition for the selection of an investor is being prepared. The place is on GM Dimitrov Blvd., near the metro station and the parking lot could be a buffer for motorists. This was emphasized in the reasons of the importers from GERB-UDF.
The really empty municipal land is at least 500 meters from the metro and quite far from the Student City, but it is next to the new office tower “NV Tower”. It belongs to Nikolay Valkanov’s Minstroy Holding, former vice president of Multigroup.
The area of the terrain is 3148 sq.m and is intended for the construction of a parking lot. The maximum building density is 60% and the cornice elevation is 20 meters, which implies three above-ground floors plus underground.
The project has passed all urban planning procedures and at the last session of the Sofia Municipal Council on December 16 was approved by the majority of GERB and “Patriots for Sofia”. Thus, the right to build a multi-storey car park was established, and the documentation for the tender has certain requirements for the future investor.
“Only the Ministry of Construction can meet the requirements for an investor. Three decares in Student City can be used for many useful things – from kindergarten to park,” said municipal councilor Toma Belev of Democratic Bulgaria.
The construction of the NV Tower was completed in the spring, and on March 17, at one of its last meetings, Borissov’s cabinet adopted a project to finance the construction of infrastructure around the 106-meter office tower. Thus, BGN 200,000 was transferred from the budget of the Ministry of Economy to the Sofia Municipality for the construction of a new street, which will be the second approach to the building.
