The German Social Democratic Party (GSDP) will win the regional elections in the Brandenburg region, which includes the area around the capital Berlin, DPA said.
Led by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the party managed to win 32 percent of the vote. The far-right party “Alternative for Germany” (AzG) received 29 percent of the vote and came in second place.
In third place is the populist party “Alliance of Sarah Wagenknecht” (ASV). percent of the vote.
It is only the fourth CDU/CSU coalition – it wins 11.5%.
