To regain the advantage on the graphics after returning to the CPU side on the Exynos 2100 of the Galaxy S21, the group Samsung worked with AMD in order to integrate in the next generation Exynos 2200 a GPU using Radeon technologies and the RDNA 2 architecture in a mobile version, or mRDNA 2.
The details will in principle not be revealed until July, but AMD CEO Lisa Su has already confirmed at Computex 2021 the upcoming support for raytracing and VRS (Variable Rate Shading), which should bring powerful features to the Adreno GPUs of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platforms.

This Exynos 2200 should be the centerpiece of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 benchmark smartphone line next year, but it wouldn’t be exclusive to the Korean group.
From a Chinese source, at least one other manufacturer will be able to access this chip and use it in its smartphones. Unsurprisingly, the manufacturer Vivo is mentioned as one of these potential players, he who has used Exynos SoCs several times in the past.
Samsung Foundry should produce the Exynos 2200 with a 4 nm engraving but also the successor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, which it is rumored that it could carry a new generation Adreno 730 and probably also rich in new features. The performance battle will therefore also be played out next year on the qualities of the respective GPUs.
