Domestic films most often collect big box office in their homeland. And they don’t cause much interest among viewers abroad.
But there are exceptions to every rule. For example, the cartoon “The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice” by the Voronezh studio Wizart Animation did not gain much success in its homeland. During its theatrical run, it grossed $5.14 million. They spent 6.3 million in foreign currency on production.
But in China and South Korea the film was a resounding success. The cartoon lasted nine weeks at the box office instead of the standard four. Viewers spent $20.28 million on tickets.
The film became the highest grossing in Poland, Bulgaria, and entered the top box office in Slovakia and Hungary. He was loved even in Turkey. The film also received excellent reviews from critics.
