The main drug trafficker and his accomplice of the district were arrested with two kilos of ganja in Alappuzha Charummoot. Shaijukhan is a native of Nooranadu Puthupallikkam. Shaijukhan used to distribute ganja to those who were carrying parcels at another location using guest workers. Shaijukhan and Gopakumar were selling ganja under the guise of selling ice cream at the festival grounds after the closure of the thutkada excise. A team led by Nooranad CI P. Sreejith caught the duo while they were going to sell ganja at Ulsavasthalam in Karunagapally. Police said that within two hours of his arrest, he received 270 calls, including from women, asking for ganja.
