the smartphone went to Geekbench with its Exynos 1080

The Vivo X60 is not expected until next week. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed the exact date of the Vivo X60’s presentation on its official website. The phone is also already on Geekbench.

Thanks to the Geekbench score, we now know more about the Exynos 1080, the processor that will equip the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro.

The Vivo X60s will undoubtedly be very competitive mid-range smartphones. Indeed, Vivo has partnered with Carl Zeiss for the smartphone cameras, a detail that we had not been able to see when we discovered the first real images of the phones. Vivo is not yet very popular in France, but yet it is one of the most influential smartphone manufacturers in the world.

The Exynos 1080, a high-end processor for mid-range smartphones

The Vivo X60 will be the first smartphones to feature Samsung’s Exynos 1080, a powerful 5nm processor for mid-range phones. Thanks to Ice Universe, we now know more about the raw power of this processor. It looks like this one is as powerful as a Snapdragon 865, Qualcomm’s high-end processor by 2020. We could even see that the Exynos 1080 could outperform the Snapdragon 865+ on AnTuTu.

The Vivo X60 then obtains a score of 915 in single-core and 3408 in multi-core. It’s slightly worse than the Samsung Galaxy S21 and its Exynos 2100, as Samsung’s high-end processor has higher operating frequencies and a new high-performance main core, the Cortex-X1. The Vivo X60 looks so good that it gets the same scores as smartphones such as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the OnePlus 8 Pro, or the OPPO Find X3.

Vivo has also confirmed the launch date of the Vivo X60 on its website. The smartphone will be unveiled on December 29, 2020, the same day as the Xiaomi Mi 11 and its Snapdragon 888, the new all-in-one chip for high-end smartphones in 2021. It should subsequently be marketed in France, because the Chinese manufacturer recently entered the European market with the Vivo X51 in 2020.
