The SmartBank League is already defined for the rojiblancos

The championship will begin the weekend of August 14 against Burgos CF in El Molinón – Enrique Castro “Quini”

The RFEF has made official the start of the SmartBank League championship for the 2021-22 season, including Real Sporting.

The first match will be against Burgos CF at El Molinón – Enrique Castro “Quini” and the second against CD Tenerife at Heliodoro Rodríguez López. The first Asturian derby will be on the weekend of October 10 at the Carlos Tartiere and the return, on matchday 36, at El Molinón – Enrique Castro “Quini”.

A season marked by the new teams that will have the category between the descendants of La Liga Santander (SD Huesca, Real Valladolid, SD Eibar) and those promoted from Second Division B (Real Sociedad B, UD Ibiza, SD Amorebieta, Burgos CF).

Of all of them, Real Sporting will face for the first time in its history UD Ibiza, who will play their matches in Can Misses, and the Real Sociedad affiliate that will play their matches in Anoeta.

On the other hand, one of the newly promoted teams is SD Amorebieta, against whom the first team played in the second round of Copa del Rey last season. That game was defeated by the rojiblancos by 0-1 and was played at the Municipal de Urritxe. It should be noted that the Basque team will not be able to play their home games in their field as they do not comply with the parameters imposed by La Liga and will play at the Lezama facilities, provided by Athletic Club.

Another team that returns to the silver category is Burgos CF and the rojiblancos will visit the El Plantío stadium again. The last time both teams crossed their paths was in the 2001-2002 season with a defeat at El Molinón, in which Dimitri Cheryshev was in the Burgos team, and a draw at El Plantío.

The table of rivals is as follows:

  • Andalusia: Málaga CF, UD Almería
  • Aragon: SD Huesca, Real Zaragoza
  • Asturias: Real Oviedo
  • Baleares: UD Disasters
  • Canary Islands: CD Tenerife, UD Las Palmas
  • Castile and Leon: Real Valladolid, Burgos CF, CD Mirandés, SD Ponferradina
  • Catalonia: Girona FC
