The smart watch and other similar devices continuously monitor your heart rate, temperature and other physiological manifestations. Therefore, they may help indicate a coronavirus infection several days before the virus is diagnosed.
Apple Watches, Garmin and Fitbit watches can predict an individual’s positivity for covid-19 before the first signs of the disease, and therefore before that, it is not possible to detect the virus with the help of a test. Studies on this issue have recently been published, among others, by the New York institution Mount Sinai System and Stanford University in California. According to Vdc, similar technologies could play a very important role in the fight against the current pandas, on CBS News.
According to vdc, the Apple Watch smartphone, for example, can detect even very small heart rate abnormalities, which can signal coronavirus infection even seven days earlier, before the hunter begins to show symptoms or his infection is confirmed by a test.
Unstable heart rhythm
The author of the study, Professor Rob Hirten, stated that the main goal was to find new tools with the help of which the infection could be detected immediately after the infection even before the people began to experience the first symptoms. The researchers focused primarily on one biometric data, the so-called heart rate variability (HRV), otherwise an unstable heart rhythm. It is a data according to which it is possible, among other things, to understand how a person’s immune system works over time.
The two of them showed that the variability of heart rate changes with each other in the body. Covid-19 is a so-called bad process in the body. This will help people find out that they are two sick, they would not know it themselves. In sick people, the researchers monitored the variability of the heart rate, otherwise only time differences between individual beats compared to healthy people.
The high variability of the heart rate then does not know the heart rate itself. On the contrary, it indicates that the individual’s nervous system is active, adaptable and more resistant to stress. In the study, the help of the Apple Watch was monitored by almost 300 medical staff for five months. However, Apple did not and did not fund the study in any way.

The data collected in the study can thus help tame the virus, even given the fact that one and a half cases of covid cases are asymptomatic.
In the study, a study conducted at the University of California Stanford monitored individuals using a variety of smart watches and bracelets from the brands Garmin, Fitbit, Apple and others. In 81 percent of positive people, changes in heart rate were observed at rest and nine and a day before the first signs of the disease.
Thanks to data from the smart watch, two-thirds of positive cases were detected, three and seven days before the first symptoms. The study evaluated data from 32 people who tested positive for coronavirus from a total of 5,000 subjects.
The team, led by Professor Michel Snyder, has also developed a user system that alerts you to changes over time. The natural variability of the heart rate may not be noticed in the system. This is quite groundbreaking, and according to Professor Snyder, this system could alert users, for example, to limit contact with other people in case they become infectious.
When to take the test?
This technology could then help with testing on covid-19. I can’t test them all around. On the other hand, smart watches and similar devices record according to data practically still and you have this data available immediately. On the other hand, the results of the hunter test for several days.

Like a heartbeat, this smart device gives me a cold temperature. They can also help in this direction, because they also point out the sudden increase in temperature, which may be caused by the first coronavirus infection.
Spnkov trackers
so-called spnkov trackers can also be an aid in the fight against the virus. According to a study by the University of Australia Central Queensland, abnormalities in sleep apnea are a guide and a precursor to coronavirus infections. In healthy individuals, very little variability in sleep breathing is noted. In contrast, deviations indicate problems with the respiratory tract.
According to Professor Hirten, all these studies suggest that markers of physiological functions collected from similar devices allow non-invasive identification of these conditions and diseases. Although they have their limitations, they complement each other nicely.
