The village of Luhme, with 35 souls, just 15 minutes from Rheinsberg, has become famous throughout Germany. Several national media had reported that around 150 refugees from Ukraine had been taken in there in the past few days.

Great solidarity in Luhme – criticism of Rheinsberg’s mayor

The operator of the holiday region in Luhme, the Rheinsberg left-wing faction leader Freke Over, had recently praised the solidarity of the Luhmer and the local cohesion. On the other hand, there was criticism of Rheinsberg’s mayor, Frank-Rudi Schwochow (BVB/Free Voters). He refuses to release the living space available in Rheinsberg for refugees.
