Apparently, there had been an obstacle that made the production process stop, as a result the manufacturer suffered a loss because it could not meet the production target.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang asked the State Electricity Company (PLN) to ensure that the electricity supply for the gas industry runs smoothly and there are no interruptions. If the power goes out, it will take several hours for production machines in the oxygen gas industry to return to operation.
“Therefore, the Ministry of Industry hopes that industries that supply oxygen gas for medical use will also receive continuous electricity supply. We ask the State Electricity Company (PLN) to ensure this,” said Agus, Thursday (6/24/21).
Agus admitted that he had discussed with the association regarding the lack of oxygen in several hospitals in Central Java. Producers will supply from factories in West Java and East Java. The government ensures that oxygen needs in hospitals are met and the association has agreed.
The occurrence of power outages in the industry is a concern for manufacturers. The reason, a lot of losses that must be borne if that happens. Unfortunately, that had happened recently.
“The most important thing is the electricity supply, the electricity supply was disrupted, for example last week in Gresik there was a blackout,” said President Director of PT Aneka Gas Industri Tbk, Rachmat Harsono to CNBC Indonesia, quoted Thursday (24/6/21).
As a result, the production target from some time previously could not be achieved. Manufacturers would not want to bear the loss.
“If it goes out for just a few seconds it can make our supply have to restart from the beginning of the production process, because we run 24 hours. So there is a process shutdown, then there is a cooling process for up to 8-10 hours, we lose the product,” explained Rachmat.
