After landing in Bratislava, Klein said that it was a great experience for him as well, but he felt considerable tension. “The flight went without any problems, the weather was ideal. It was great that two more planes were flying with me, piloted by my son and nephew, so we were in such a family formation, “said the visibly satisfied designer with a smile.

AirCar’s cruising speed is 170 kilometers per hour. “After installing the adjustable-pitch propeller, the speed will increase to 200 kilometers per hour, which will make AirCar one of the fast aircraft,” Klein explained. AirCar was established in a workshop in Janíkovce, today the city district of Nitra. The flying car is currently powered by a 160-horsepower engine, but will eventually have up to 300 horsepower.

The transformation from the plane to the car and vice versa is in charge of 20 servomotors and will take place in two and a half minutes. “The wing folds into the fuselage during the transformation and is not visible,” the designer warned.

“It’s a very fast sports car on the road and parking is no problem after the transformation,” Klein added. In air mode, the AirCar is 2.5 meters longer compared to the mode used on the road. The wingspan is 8.2 meters.

Extend the range to a thousand kilometers
The designer’s goal is to reach a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a range of one thousand kilometers per refueling. The price of a flying car will start at 500 thousand euros (12.5 million crowns). To make full use of the machine, you must have a pilot’s and driver’s license.

The co-founder of the antivirus company Eset, Anton Zajac, who, according to Forbes magazine, is one of the top twenty richest Slovaks, invested over 1.5 million euros (38 million crowns) in Klein’s project. Zajac described the market in the United States as promising, where, according to him, there are around 220,000 aircraft owners.
