ANNOUNCEMENTS

Police in Germany pulled a motorist who had fallen asleep on the highway off the road and continued driving for another 15 minutes. The officers tried to wake the man up with a horn, but it took them a while to succeed.

The notable accident occurred on Wednesday on a motorway near Bamberg, Bavaria. The police wanted to check on the man, but did not respond to the light signals. Officers noticed that the man always kept the same distance from their police car at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. The driver appeared to be asleep and had his hands off the wheel. His Tesla autopilot kept him on the road.

After about fifteen minutes, the man woke up. He then followed the directions of the police. During the check, the driver showed behavior which, according to the police, is compatible with the use of drugs. It also appeared that he had attached a weight to the steering wheel. As a result, the software thought it had its hands on the wheel.

The man was charged with reckless driving. For now he has lost his license.
